For my awesome surprise birthday party on Monday, my parents had a special movie-theatre themed cake made, which they brought with them all the way from New York! As part of the story of the cake, the woman who made the cake put it on a wooden lazy-susan and then set the entire (2 layer, plus popcorn bucket) cake into a very large laundry basket (and gave my parents the receipt, so they could potentially return it to the store after use). The cake safely made the 3 hour drive up to the Palace 9 in the laundry basket, compeletly unharmed. As the party finished up, the cake was then put back into the laundry basket for transport home. Actually, the original idea was to take it to the EMC, so Ray and I would not eat the rest of the cake.
As you might have noticed, that isn't how it worked out. Our efforts with the cake in the laundry basket were far less successful than my parents', and we did end up with a tiny bit of frosting in our back seat. So, since the cake was slightly "damanged" we decided to keep it at home... and have now finished it. As you can see, we didn't consume every morsel, and mostly that's my fault since I took to just eating the frosting off the cake.
So here are photos of the remnants....
