Photo of the Day: MY OHIO Opening Night!

Wednesday, 21 April 2010 @ 23:31 by corinn

Tonight was the opening of the final show of our season, and the world premiere of the new play My Ohio!  This was a brand-new play written by Vermont playwright Dana Yeaton.  This show has been in process for over a year: there was a read-thru/sing-thru last winter, the show worked in NYC in November and then went into rehearsal at the end of March.  After tonight's performance we held a bit of a talk-back with the cast and crew and audience.

Matt Carlson (plays Neil), Trisha Rapier (plays Bonnie), Travis Sullivan (Musical Director), Peter Schmitz (Choreographer), Andy Mitton (Composer), Dana Yeaton (Playwright), Mark Nash (VSC Producing Artistic Director), Lisa Rothe (Director) and John Forbes (Lighting Designer)

The audience seemed to really enjoy the show, and overall both Mark and Dana seemed pleased with the final product.  Ray joined me for the show, and we had some great laughs.  Just two and a half weeks until the end of the season!

Photo of the Day: Gaze at the Sky

Tuesday, 20 April 2010 @ 21:54 by corinn

Surprisingly, I've had a lot of evenings with Ray lately.  I know that things at his work will be gearing up soon, so I'm trying to enjoy having evenings with my husband, when I am not completely absorbed with homework.  Amazing what finishing my degree has done for my social life!

We have some of the most lovely sunsets outside our windows in the evenings.  With the weather getting warmer (hurrah!) and the light staying later each day Ray took a moment after dinner to step out on the porch and enjoy the colors and clouds in the sky.  I know that both of us will miss our home, our balcony and the view and, of course, Vermont when we make our move in a few months.  I think a quiet moment alone, just enjoying what was happening at that exact moment was a nice memory to capture.

Photo of the Day: Clash of the Titans

Monday, 19 April 2010 @ 20:44 by corinn

With the final show of the season opening in just two days (yippie!) both Jen and I agreed that we needed some down time to relax, and not think about work.  Also, with the last show opening this week, it means that Jen's days in Vermont are numbered, so we need to take every opportunity possible to hang out!  So I enlisted both Danielle and Ray to join Jen and I for a movie night.  Unfortunately, we are in that mid-April move lull; the summer blockbusters aren't out yet and we are far past the holiday-time releases.  So.... we went to see Clash of the Titans, which I understand is a remake of a 1980's movie (which I haven't seen) and is also trying to ride the wave of 3D movies.  Since none of us are particularly big 3D fans (and they cost more) we opted for the normal 2D mode.

The movie was pretty bad.... and this is the only shot that came out.  All of my non-flash shots were too blurry.  I guess I need to work on my standing-completely-still abilities... and what movies I am willing to go and see!  Even if the movie was bad, the company was great!  Oh, and we weren't the ONLY ones in theatre... just the first to show up!

Photo of the Day: Laundry Day

Sunday, 18 April 2010 @ 21:30 by corinn

So Sunday is laundry day.  I have discovered, in the 3.5 years that I have owned my own washer and dryer, that it is easiest to do the laundry once a week.  That way it doesn't back up on you, and you don't end up in an emergency on a work day morning without any socks, or something like that.  I have designated Sunday to be the day of laundry.  This works particularly well during football season, so that I can watch the game, yell at the TV and fold the laundry all at the same time.

Today, for reasons that are still unclear, Sam decided that he wanted to be as involved with the laundry as was feline-possible.  He helped me sort it, put it in the washer, change over to the dryer, fold it and, as it appears in this photo, is prepared to help me put it away.  While the company is wonderful... the kitty fuzz on the other hand... well, I sort of try to keep clean laundry and kitty fuzz as separated as possible.  But Sam was determined to help today, and so he did!  Thank goodness for lint rollers!

Photo of the Day: Handsome Man!

Saturday, 17 April 2010 @ 22:26 by corinn

So tonight is the annual Champlain College CCM Division Awards Dinner.  We go to this every year, and we always have a great time.  It's a combination of faculty, staff, students who are being honored and their parents.  And some staff spouses.  So Ray got all spiffied up for the evening, and I just thought he was lookin' so good, I'd take a photo or two!
