Alumni Bowling Night

Saturday, 13 March 2010 @ 22:21 by corinn

Every now and then the Champlain College Alumni group puts together a fun event, and generally Ray and I try to go.  Tonight was the Alumni Bowling event at Spare Time, and even though I was without my official Champlain Alumn, my new status as a "finished" student qualified me.  So, Danielle came as my date, and we met the Jergers at the bowling alley.

Several lanes had been rented for the party, and the staff divided us up and the four of us ended up sharing a lane with Chris Champion, one of my MBA classmates.  This was actually the first time I'd ever met Chris in person, even though we had engaged in countless classroom "chats".

Pizza and soda was served, gutter balls were thrown and strikes were celebrated.  While none of us were super bowlers, we did have a great time!

Next Saturday I'll be back here with Ray; the Champlain Staff is putting together a bowling night at the same place!  I told Ray I would use this as my "warm up" so I can kick his booty next week!

It's Time to Celebrate!

Sunday, 7 March 2010 @ 09:34 by corinn

Last night, at midnight my final MBA class finshed.  Even though I submitted my final project yesterday, I had planned in advance a night out on the town with my wonderful friends who have helped to support me through his process over the past 3.5 years.

Sarah, Jay, Danielle, Tonya and Jami all came out to dinner at Madera's around 7:00 pm.  Jen came down the hill to join us after tech finished up, surprisingly early around 9:00 pm!  After dinner the plan was to hit up 80's Night at Retronome!

To start the night off right, I bought everyone a shot, and we toasted to finally finishing my MBA and then we hit the dance floor!

Everyone rocked out to 80's tunes, D and I sported our best side ways pony tails, and I even did a little bit of the Running Man (which is really a 90's dance... but oh, so fun to remember)!

Evan joined us at the club when he got off work.

We all went home at a fairly responsible hour (sometime around 1:00 am or so....).  Ray and Jay have plans to head to go-karts in Montreal in the morning so they wanted a good night's sleep.  All-in-all we had great food, great drinks, and an awesome time dancin' to some good ol' 80's tunes.  Big thanks to everyone for coming out to celebrate with me - I really couldn't have made it through the MBA without your support!!!

Photo of the Day: Warmest Place in the House

Saturday, 13 February 2010 @ 15:27 by corinn

One thing I am learning is that I not as steady holding the camera as I would like to be.  Also, the flash is (usually) my friend.  Sorry for the blurry photo!

I spent the majority of my day freaking out about and working on my final, final project for my MBA.  My rough draft is due tomorrow and with all the stuff going on at work (such as my having to run wardrobe for much of the last show) I haven't been as focused as I would like to be.  This has me only slightly worried, but today is all about getting the rough draft done!

Ray and I were home all day, as I worked on homework, Ray spent his time on various projects requiring the use of one or more of many of his computers.  Sam always has a way to find the warmest place in the house.  He has spent much of the day with me in the office, perched on top of Ray's warm, humming computer.  I don't think he gets any happier than this.  Can't you see his smile?

Day 1: Movie-Marco's-Monday

Monday, 9 February 2009 @ 23:09 by corinn

So the good news is that I finished my class yesterday!  Today begins my two weeks off, and I've decided I am going to start a series of blogs called "The Things Corinn Wishes She Was Doing Instead Of Her Homework".  Today is Day 1: Movie-Marco's-Monday.

Movie-Marco's-Monday is a bit of a tradition for Ray and I when I have my breaks from class.  So, on a Monday night (like tonight), Ray and I hit up our favorite pizza place (Marco's) for an early dinner and then catch a movie (tonight it was Taken).  Ray got out of work a little bit later than planned, but our movie wasn't until 6:50 pm, so we had plenty of time to grab a bite.

Ray ordered this yummy Italian sandwich and I had two FABULOUS slices of pizza: one with garlic and one with pepperoni.

Doesn't that look yummy?!

We arrived just on time for the movie, and found that we were the only folks in the theatre.

I actually thought that it was kind of hilarious!

It didn't last forever, about halfway through the previews another couple arrived, but they sat all the way in the back, so it was basically like being alone for the movie.  The movie was pretty good, very intense and pretty fast paced.  It turned out it was also pretty fast, we were home in time to catch the last half hour of President Obama's press conference and ALL of Heroes (thank goodness).  Laughing

All-in-all it was an exceedingly great way to start my two weeks of freedom!

Class Finished!

Wednesday, 30 July 2008 @ 14:35 by Corinn

Yeah!  I am a free woman!  My MBA class ended on Sunday at midnight - I now have time to return phone calls, watch TV, catch up on my ironing and do fun things on "school" nights!  Smile  Yippie!  I even found out that I received a very good grade on my final paper and got an A in the class!  I am super psyched!

To celebrate my new freedom Ray, Jami, Tonya and Tonya's friend from Seattle, Jami, all went to the Lake Monsters game on Monday night.  It was $0.25 MacKenzie Hotdog night.  You can't hate that.  Photos - coming soon!
