Ray and I both took today off so that we could make a leisurely weekend visit, instead of spending more time in the car than with Will and Katie. As we were forming our plans, it became obviuos that Will and Katie both had work today (duh!). So Ray and I made some alternative arrangements to keep ourselves out of trouble.
As you may know, Ray has applied to and been accepted at several graduate schools, RIT being one of them. We figured since we were going to be in the area anyway, we might stop by and have a look. Selecting a grad school has been sort of backwards from how I did in it undergrad: I went to visit the schools first before I applied!
We started out our morning visiting Graduate Enrollment, getting a bit of a campus tour and then meeting with the friendly folks over at housing. We were meant to join a tour of the building where the School of Film and Animation lives, but somehow missed it, and missed the pizza lunch and meet and greet with the professors! Well, let me tell you, we weren't the only ones on campus today! RIT had an "accepted students day", so 2,000 potential undergraduate students and their parents were on campus. Busy, Busy!
Being our resourceful selves, we found our way to a dining hall and had some sandwiches for lunch. At 12:30 pm we met with Stephanie, the chair of the animation department. It was a great meeting, even though about 80% of what was discussed went over my head, but it was great for Ray to really get some one on one time to chat and really hear about the program.

I can tell you that no decisions have been made. But I know Ray is feeling stressed about the whole process and was greatly impressed by the department.

But that is a decision for another day! We have some time to kill; Will and Katie don't get out of work until 9:00 pm. We may wander around Rochester or maybe hit up a movie theater!
