Today was the last day of our Rochester visit. It was sad to go, and even more depressing to have a 6.5 hour car ride, but both Ray and I were glad we made the trip.
Katie had a bridal shower this afternoon, so was off early to help make food and finish preparations. Will was a good sport and sat and chatted with us all morning. He even let me take a picture of him in his PJs!

Will and Katie and a great apartment, which they may or may not be staying in. It was funny to recognize so much furniture from my parents house (such as the end table and lamp in this photo), but I remember when our home was full of things that other people had been kind enough to pass down to us! It made me smile.
So after a longer-than-we-intended search for lunch, Ray and I were finally on the road around 2:00 pm. It had taken us about 6.5 hours to get there (not including the stop to have dinner with my parents), so we were estimating something similar on the way back. Jami had lent us her GPS, which I had used to nagivate us around the area with some success (there were some serious user error issues). Hoping to cut some time off our ride we punched in our home address.... and found ourselves driving through the middle of the Adirondack state park with no cell service....
I will say there was a moment of panic when I feared the GPS was expecting us to cross the torn-down Crowne Point Bridge. This led to frantic calls to Jami and Tonya, only to lose the cell service cut out, and to find (via text message) that there is a 24 hour ferry in place of the bridge. Because that IS where the GPS was sending us!
It was a nice drive, and the GPS cut an hour out of the trip so we can't complain!
